La Prova Aglianico Rosato 2024
2024 Aglianico Rosato, Adelaide Hills
Dry, textural, savoury.
We love that rosato makes us dream of all the different yummy foods you want to nibble on with a glass in hand. Tannic red Italian varieties like Aglianico are perfect for the style. They develop bright, vibrant, fragrant red fruits early on; and the savoury notes of a touch of tannin on the finish tidy the palate up.
Climate | Cooler due to elevation.
Season | The 2024 growing season started wet and cool, then finished warm and dry during the ripening period.
Source | Aglianico is native to the hills of Naples and well-matched to the climate in the hills of Kersbrook, a warmer sub region of the Adelaide Hills.
Winemaking | Grown specifically for Rosato and picked early in the red-fruit-flavour spectrum. Fermented in stainless steel with fluffy lees to create a vibrant, lifted rose with a savoury finish. Vegan friendly.
Style | Rosewater, Turkish delight, star anise and a succulent palate, with soft acidity and a little grip on the finish. The late-ripening Aglianico in a cool vintage tests our patience as we wait for it to slowly get there.
